SUMMER BOOK CLUB REPORT

Frankenstein
I finished my book already.
I understand 90% of what I read.

1. Frankenstein and the monster are two of the characters in my book. They have a few different. For example, Frankenstein is a good person and he sacrificed his own like to turn his dream into dream. He was succeeded in creating a monster. In addition, that monster is alone, and he hopes that Frankenstein can create same people around him like his family. On the contrary, they also have a few things in common. For instance, they just think of themselves, and both of them are alone.
2. i chose them because their character is tic sapped to me, I'm completely different from them, I always think of my family before I decide to do something.

Blame (v) a reproach for some lapse or misdeed.
Ice floe (n) a flat mass of ice .
oars (n) an implement used to propel or steer a boat.

Kimchi Bistro

The name of the restaurant is KIMCHI BISTRO, which is located in Broadway. It's easy for you to get there, but it's too hard to park there because the parking lot is too far from the restaurant. The interior is clean and pleasant decor. There are crowded with people in the restaurant, but they know how to keep orderly. I gave it 3 stars for this part, and 3 stars for the atmosphere. The atmosphere is comfortable and I was under the impression that I was in Korea. The next part is food, and the number of stars is 4. The food is very delicious, and I like food which is spicy. In addition, the service and price are very good. They are whole- hearted and the prices are not expensive.

My cousin

My cousin, Xu, is just three years old. What strikes you first is her angelic face. In addition, she's got light black hair, bright dark eyes, and a wide friendly grin. She is not supposed to be a naughty little girl. If she gets familiar with you, she will talk non- stop, but other wise, she is a bit shy ='.'=, or she might into tear because she is afraid of stranger. She loves putting make- up on her face by herself, and she loves posing in front of the mirror. She also likes wearing floral dresses like a princess. I love the way she speaks nicely, and she is a happy- go- lucky child. Sometime she finds something interesting or funny, so it's impossible not to smile with her. I came to the U.S when she was two, but now she's still missing me. I always call for her when I have a free time because I miss her so much. She is my little angel.
Anyway, I have to say that she is quite well- behaved in school, and I hope that everything will get better as she gets older.

Newspaper

There is a hurricane in the Dolly Mexico on Tuesday. It heading toward Texas- Mexico boded. Hurricane might be in effect for the coast Texas and in Mexico. Texas officials told president move away from Rio Grange levees. The government declared 14 south Texas counties disasters and allow state to be used to send people and equipment emergency to areas in Strom.
Storm across Texas killing 58 people and causing more than 1 million damage.
Maj. Jose Rivera of Texas Army National Guard said that troops called 1200 guard members to help.

Frankenstein

This book has 153 pages. I am now on page 131.
This week I read 26 pages this week.
I understand 90% of what I read.

Characters:
_ Henry: Victor's friend, he grew up with Elizabeth and Victor. He's so funny, he always made Victor happy when Victor studied a lot.
_Victor: The man who studied really hard. He made the monster.
_Elizabeth: Victor's lover. She is an orphan, she loves Victor, and she got married with Victor.
_The monster: He wanted Victor made a female Monster for him, because he felt alone. He killed Victor's brother.

The Monster requested Victor to do the female Monster for the Monster, and Victor went to London to learn about female body. Victor went to Orkney Islands to make the female monster because nobody live in there. He finished his second creature but he didn't want to bring it in the life. Victor got married with Elizabeth, and the Monster said: "I'll come to your wedding night." Victor know he'll hurt Elizabeth and Victor wants to protect Elizabeth. After that, he can protect Elizabeth, the monster killed her, and Victor tried to find the Monster to stop him. Victor know he will never come home again if he decide to find the Monster. Henry, who is Victor's friend, he knew everything about the Monster and what happen with Victor. The Monster killed Henry and Elizabeth.

My opinion:
No one can't suffer alone. The monster did the cruel thing but he felt guilty. I think this Monster should be tolerable. Victor he loves his family but he just thought about himself. Finally, Henry and Elizabeth are person who receive death.

Dear Victor!
I understand what you did and what you thought, but the best way for you should do is to tell the truth for everybody. I think they can understand you and help you to stop the monster. One more thing you should do is to protect your family and you love. You shouldn't create a new monster.

I chose Victor because he did the monster and now he doesn't know what does he want to do. He needs to decide everything such as: create a new monster or not, how to protect his family and his love, and how to stop the monster.

Innocent (adj) not guilty of a crime.
Chase (v) to quickly follow so or s.t in order to catch them.

If I have $10,000. What will I do?

I personally think we sometimes should have a go at doing whatever I wanted, especially if I have $10,000, I will open a bank account and deposit my money into saving about 1 month. After that, I will buy new games such as NITENDO DS, XBOX, Wii and PLAYSTATIONS 3, because I really like to play games. In addition, I'll use the rest of my money to buy a ticket for my cousin and me to come back to our hometown as our holiday for a month. Moreover, I want to go to the Disney World in Florida, which is one of the biggest one in the world. I would like to enjoy some interesting games there. Plus, I would like to collect exclusive watches such as Guess or Ecko.
As you can see, there are too many things I had wanted to do for a while. Next time, I wish I would have 10 million, not 10,000.

Before the chicken or the egg comes the coop

I read an article on The Seattle Times that relate to the Fram's life. "Before the chicken or the egg comes the coop." this is the topic I read. It talked about How to make coop for the chicken or the egg? How has the chicken been growing up? And which place can you visit "Chicken coop" in Seattle? Chicken coop that mean chicken's house, or you can call "Cob house". To make a cod house you need sand, earth and straw or as straightforward as buying a used doghouse. Remember Coops don't require big pieces of lumber. They have a tour to visitors Saturday as part of the Seattle Tilth City Chickens Coop Tour. Other cities that allow chickens include Bellevue, Kent and Seatac, Seattle Tilth's city- chickens coordinator. The visitor can find out more about the coop design, placement, chicken personality, feed, how manage chicken manure, egg production based on breed and where owners get bedding. They can learn how to protect chickens from raccoons, coyotes,possums, dogs ad cats. "Nothing but the best for chickens." Jandl said.

My book has 153 pages, and I am now on page 84.
This week I read 31 pages.
I understand about 80% of what i read.

A little bit about the story

Victor Frankenstein after he finished his study, he had a decision to make. He could go home and marry Elizabeth, or he could stay and continue his work in the lab. Instead, he stayed in Ingolstadt because he still had question about the human body and how it worked. What gives creature life? It was hard question but he needed to answer. He worked very hard and he forgot everything about his family, he didn't send the letter to his family for a long time. After that, he reached his goal. He created the monster but he couldn't control it. He came back home because his brother, William was died, and Justine was guilty. Justine, William's nanny is a good girl, she was guilty, but she is perfectly innocent. Victor Frankenstein knew who was killed William, but he couldn't told everybody because the monster did it.

My opinion about this story

Victor Frankenstein gave up his love and choice his major. So I think he got a big mistake. He works hard and forgot everything about his love, his family and his health. Everybody felt happy when victor came home because they are a family and they was sad because William was died. When we felt happy, bad, sad family always listen to us and take care for us. Justine is a good girl, she was guilty, but she is perfectly innocent. How is that fair? Victor Frankenstein should have help her because he created the monster.

My reading habit

I was reading this book when I was on the way going to pagoda with my friend on Sunday. About 1 hour.

My weekend

On July 4 when everybody in the U.S was looking for the Fireworks, I was being in Vietnam with my family. Last week after class I came home very quickly because I needed to prepare everything to come back to Vietnam. I had been there just 1 day but I was very happy. I ate many Vietnamese foods, cut my hair, but I didn't have enough time to straighten hair, drank a coffee at night with my cousins and after that we went to Karaoke. I drove my motorcycle under the rain, It's not too cold like Seattle and It so cute. In the Sunday morning, I waked up early and had a breakfast with my cousin and my sister, and after that I came home to prepare something I needed. The weather was not good, It was rain a lots, but that's ok It made me feel better because in Vietnam too hot right now. At 4:00 pm in Vietnam I went to airport to come back to the U.S, to tired. After 3 days I was happy with my family, and now I'm doing my homework at 4:30 am.

I choice this book because interested with the picture in this book, and I got it by my friend. The place in this book is in the Arctic, I don't know what the time, but i think it was a long time ago. Victor Frankenstein is the most interesting character because he is mysterious . Victor will tell captain Robert Walden about his story.

Hi guys!
This is my first time i write this blog and this entry. My name's VO THI MINH PHUONG, and my English name's Betty. I'm 17, and i haven't finished the high school yet. There are five people in my family: My father, my mother, my sister, my brother and me.

We often get together at the weekend. Sometimes we went out for a good restaurant and went for a walk around the city central. I'm a chatter box with my friends , and I'm a wallflower with someone who I don't know because I easily get shy >_<. But I really like to make new friends. I love smile^.^, and I like to make people smile. Smile is good for our health, we can lead a long life if we smile and have fun everyday.
I can play tennis but I'm not a good player. I used to play tennis with my brother and my sister, but now I'm away from my home so I can't play with them any more *.*. Apart from that my friends, I have many Vietnamese friends but among of them is my best friend. They are my second family in the U.S, they are really funny, happy and a little bit crazy ^o^. You maybe won't like them at the first sight, but if you are there friends, they are really nice.






I have a dream, I wish I'll become a business woman in the future, and I'll open a big resort. Because I love beach and sunshine, so I have a brown skin.

Happy hour with my family and my friends

In the short, sometimes I love my life, but sometimes I hate it very much. Anyway, thanks God for everything. Family relationship and friendship are truly important, so they can't be compared to money.
